What's the secret to taking a great photograph?
Capturing the true essence of the individual's personality is exactly what creates a beautiful portrait.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Upon meeting or having conversation on the phone, I ask questions about my potential client's goals for the photo session. What is your vision? How do you see the session progressing? What are your favorite colors? What locations are important to you? A few intro questions allow me to get to know my client better.
What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely love meeting new people and hearing they have seen my work in a friend's home or on facebook. Listening to their stories and what inspires them inspires me in return. Being able to offer them something as special as a professional portrait for them to admire and cherish for years to come is the cherry on top.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I first saw others being successful at this and it was inspiring. Mostly though, I met and spoke with disappointed people coming to me saying they spent quite a bit of money on a session only to be unhappy with the result. They want to make sure I will not do the same. These stories and experiences inspired me to get out there and show what I can do. It continues to motivate me to always push myself so I am able to do better for these and all of my customers.
Why should a potential client choose you?
I make my client priority number one. I did not get into this business for the money or pats on the back. I got into this business to create memories for busy families, for professionals, for couples, for excited mamas-to-be and for parents of precious babies. My goal always is to create lifelong portraiture that they can be proud of, the kind of photographs that bring tears to their eyes. Pure joy and satisfaction are my priority.
